It's easy - and vital - to learn about the health of your heart. As Northern California's proven leader in cardiac care, Mercy Heart & Vascular Institute encourages you to take advantage of our Heart HealthScreen.
Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans - both men and women. Heart disease can strike at any age, but you are especially at risk of heart disease and stroke if you have any of these risk factors:
Risk factors that are specific to women:
-
Inflammatory disease, such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis
-
Pregnancy-related complications, such as preeclampsia or gestational diabetes
The Heart HealthScreen is designed to help you know your own risk factors and inspire you to make healthful lifestyle changes. Screenings include a visit with a nurse and a review of results by a Sacramento doctor affiliated with the Mercy Heart & Vascular Institute.
The one-hour Heart HealthScreen includes:
-
Blood pressure, body mass index and waist circumference
-
Specialized cholesterol and blood glucose lab tests
-
12-Lead EKG to measure electrical functions of the heart
Heart HealthScreens are offered the SECOND WEEK of every month on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento. You can schedule this (or any of the other available health screenings) yourself. No referral required.
The cost is $95 per Heart HealthScreen; payable by cash, check or credit card. Your insurance will not be billed.
